RULES

How the hill opens

A sector is open when a lift serves it and the bulletin allows it. It goes to no lift access the moment its cable holds — the snow may be perfect and it still counts as closed terrain. Closed means patrol has shut it for control work or the rating demands it; ducking a rope here ends your season pass, not your day.

The orange loaded-aspects chip is the bulletin speaking inside the terrain report: the sector is open, and its aspect is one the day's avalanche problem names. Open has never meant safe. It means reported.
